Below are my top five wellness-related finds because of the clear and notable impact they have had from increased comfort during activity to sustained energy throughout my day.
The Osprey Dyna 1.5 Pack
This was a great gift…one of those I didn’t know I needed. I have been running for over 10 years with the waist-style belts that are often uncomfortable. The Dyna 1.5 fits amazingly well, has many pockets, a removable water bladder, and even comes with a whistle (whoot whoot)! Osprey puts it, “Training, racing and more. The Dyna 1.5 is a svelte hydration companion perfect for training runs, long races, or streamlined days in the mountains. While it may be the smallest volume of the series, it will carry you further than you ever imagined. With a body-hugging women’s-specific fit that provides bounce-free carry, smart and accessible organization for fuel and gear, and an included Hydraulics® LT 1.5L reservoir that can be supplemented with soft flasks, the Dyna 1.5 helps you focus on what matters most: continuous forward motion.” Here is the Amazon associate link.
2. Pure Encapsulations O.N.E. Multivitamin
Dr. Rhonda Patrick has a Ph.D. in biomedical science and is an expert on longevity and health related topics. I find her YouTube videos and website invaluable! She takes O.N.E. (Amazon associate link) on days she feels like she is lacking in nutrition. Consumerlab.com, a subscription site that identifies the best quality health and nutritional products, found 46% of the multivitamin’s they tested did not pass their testing process, but found O.N.E. to be a quality vitamin containing vitamins, minerals, and essential nutrients. WARNING! Taking this multivitamin impacts my energy level to such a degree that if I take it too late in the day it delays my bedtime.
3. LonoLife Stick Packs of Bone Broth
Knowing the health benefits of bone broth have had me making my own and trying multiple brands, but in the end, I have been unsuccessful in finding a “bone broth strategy” that is handy enough to drink frequently until now. The LonoLife Chicken Bone Broth and Grass-fed Beef Bone Broth (Amazon associate links) comes in single serving packets…just add hot water, stir and enjoy! They even sell them in Keurig-style cups!! Note: the Chicken Broth is also available at Costco, and if you go to LonoLife’s website you can get a 50% off a sample pack of 5 types.
4. KT Tape (Kinesiology Therapeutic Tape)
This summer I had nagging hip discomfort, so when I finally took action, where did I go? I started digging around in my husband’s stuff and found KT Tape (Amazon associate link). After my dear friend, Nicole, successfully described how to arrange the tape for best support, I was off and running. For your own quality instructions go to their website and you will find the instruction videos grouped by body area. As a bonus, they will offer you 30% off on your first order! The KT website best describe’s their product, “KT Tape helps reduce pressure to the tissue and may reduce discomfort or pain. Correct sports taping also provides support to muscles by improving the muscle’s ability to contract, even when it is weak, and helps the muscle to not over-extend or over-contract.”
5. Pique Tea Crystals
I discovered Pique Tea Crystals through Dr. Peter Attia and Dr. Jason Fung. Dr. Fung, is an expert on the benefits of fasting, and was a contributor to the development of their fasting teas. He has a lot of valuable interviews on the topic such is this one with Dr. Attia and this one with the founder of Pique. I have tried many Macha teas, knowing the great health benefits, but have historically found them to taste a lot like a mix of sea weed and dirt…not Pique Matcha Green Fasting Tea! It is mild with more of an edamame taste vs. sea weed/dirt. Also, I know someone who struggles with stomach issues and has found very little that is helpful, but just recently ordered another package of the Ginger Digestion Elixer due to its taste and impact. Pique Tea has tons more types of tea with a big focus on fasting, gut health and calming teas. These triple toxin screened, highly concentrated tea crystals, are easy to use, just add to hot or cold water and mix! Save by “building your own bundle”. To get $10 off your purchase use this link!
